ZANNE HOCHBERG: HAND-PAINTED ETCHINGS

APRIL 8 - APRIL 26, 2006
Saturday, April 8th 6-9pm

Flatbed Press & Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of the etchings of Zanne Hochberg (Am. 1931-2001). These works are unusual because the artist combined traditional etching techniques with modernist painting techniques to create colorful, one-of-a-kind works on paper. Recently, Hochberg's large abstract expressionist paintings and etchings were exhibited to much acclaim in an Austin private showing.

Hochberg is best known as a pioneering Texas artist. She was one of the first women to receive a MFA from SMU. Her work received positive reviews through the years, and was placed in distinguished public and private collections including the Dallas Museum of Art. Hochberg’s work has been exhibited nationally in many important art arenas such as the National Museum of Women, the Laguna Gloria Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Art, the Meadows Museum, and numerous other museums and galleries.
