THE BOB SCHNEIDER SHOW: AN EXHIBITION OF RECENT ETCHINGS AND FLASH ANIMATIONS

THE BOB SCHNEIDER SHOW: AN EXHIBITION OF RECENT ETCHINGS AND FLASH ANIMATIONS

MARCH 9 - APRIL 1, 2006
Opening: Thursday, March 9 Reception: 6 until 9 pm

Bob Schneider, one of Austin's most popular singer-songwriters, is mounting a mini-retrospective of the etchings he has created at Flatbed Galleries during the last fitteen years. Scheduled to coincide with SXSW, the exhibition includes seven new editions by this cross-over artist. Also on exhibition for the first time off-stage will be selections from his Flash animations, which reveal yet another side of this versatile artist's talents.

Schneider packs so much imagery into each of his etchings that it takes many viewings to see it all. He weaves bodies, body parts, and texts into rich tapestries of meaning. And there are many layers of meanings. Schneider's iconography is biographical and yet surreal. Stylistically, they combine tatoo, graffiti, and comics aesthetics into a poetic whole that is like nothing you've ever seen before.

Don't miss this rare chance to see Scheider's unique works, and to meet him.
