Slated for this September at the La Romita School of Art, located in the Umbrian region of Italy, Katherine Brimberry, co-founder and Master Printer of Flatbed Press, will teach a variety of printmaking methods designed to immerse an artist into a rich creative experience. This two week printmaking class will offer a combination of Umbrian hill country tours and studio instruction which will cover non-toxic platemaking and etching techniques combined with both traditional and experimental monoprinting methods. Some of the methods covered will be working with multiple plates and the use of a la poupeé, relief or viscosity rolls, and chine collé printing.
