Collection: LUIS JIMENEZ

Luis Jimenez (1940 - 2006) was a sculptor and printmaker whose monumental, polychromed fiberglass sculptures dot the American landscape. Drawing upon the culture of Hispanics in America, he presented people of the barrios at work and at play. Sometimes controversial, his works were always honest and heartfelt portrayals of his rich heritage.

Jimenez was also a masterful draftsman. Working with master printers at Flatbed he created both etchings and lithographs.

The artist’s untimely death occurred in a tragic studio accident involving one of his huge sculptures.
